Dr. Darrell Gill remembers those who made a difference in his life. There were many, but he pays tribute to them all. They helped him personally, spiritually, financially, and culturally. Dr. Gill feels a deep responsibility to pay it forward — which inspired him to create Pay It Forward 365 for marginalized youth to learn what he learned, that education yields opportunity.
Becoming a medical physician wasn’t always an obvious career direction, but once Dr. Gill made the decision, he applied himself completely the same way he hopes Pay It Forward 365 students will.
He earned a BA in liberal arts, followed by a Masters in philosophy. Dr. Gill manifests his love for the arts by playing trumpet, saxophone, and piano. His enthusiasm for fitness drives him to train year- round to compete in Olympic-style triathlons several times a year.
Dr. Gill thanks others for his success. Educational accomplishment played a crucial role, as did positive exposures to potential career opportunities. Now he hopes to pay it forward to your 8th to 11th grade students by helping them strive for the kind of success he has been fortunate to experience.
